Lest We Forget, Hamilton Remembrance Day Services

On Remembrance Day, November 11, 2012, Hamilton will honour and remember our veterans, and all who served Canada during war, armed conflict and peace.  In Hamilton, Veterans will gather across the city in different locations to recognize the annual Remembrance Day Ceremonies.

Information on parades and ceremonies around Hamilton are listed below.

Veterans Parade:
A parade of Hamilton and area Veterans, Hamilton Garrison Units and Cadet Corps will leave the John Foote V.C. Armouries on James Street North at 10:15am on Sunday, November 11, 2012. The Parade will proceed south on James Street to King Street and east on King Street to the Cenotaph in Gore Park for a Memorial Service at 10:45am.

The Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum will also be honouring those who served our country with a special Remembrance Day Service on Sunday from 10:30 am to 12 noon. The service will take place indoors at the Museum, located at Hamilton International Airport and will be broadcast live by CHCH Television.

Parking and admission are free and donations to the Museum to help us remember them are greatly appreciated. Weather permitting; the Museum’s Avro Lancaster Bomber will do a fly-past for the service.

Also on Remembrance Day, Hamilton Civic Museums will acknowledge the struggle of men and women in their work toward the goal of peace. In honour of this commitment, the Hamilton Military Museum presents a special display and free admission to the museum.
